360 Networking with Businessline Wrexham


Networking of a different kind.

My first visit to Businessline's 360 Networking evenings at the Gresford Memorial Centre was sometime last year. Hosted by Wrexham's Businessline Business and Information Officer, Gareth Hatton, these monthly early evening meetings quickly became a fixture in my diary.
The format is similar in some respects to other networking meetings that I have tasted. It is all very businesslike, informal, and friendly.

Format.

After a brief welcome over tea or coffee where Gareth outlines the wide range of information available, either on line or from him at the Businessline desk upstairs in Wrexham Library, the usual round of introductions takes place. Following this - sometimes nerve racking experience - a speaker takes the floor. All presentations are relevant to business and often open up areas which we may not have thought of.
Afterwards there is time for general networking with other attendees, both new and longer standing businesses, where information and advice is often exchanged.

Speaking.

Last week, January 12th, I was privileged to be asked to give a talk on Customer Service:  
Dealing with Difficult Customers. Judging by the amount of note-taking, I think that I got the pitch right.  It was a well-attended meeting in spite of the foul weather. As I turned off the High Street I noticed that the lake was high with all the rain; the ducks had gone into hiding.



**Start-up Europe week 2016.

I have been invited to run this presentation again at a FREE workshop during Start-up Europe Week 2016 which runs from February 1st -5th. In Wrexham, Businessline are hosting the event. I will be at the Wrexham Library on Monday 1st February, 3-4pm. Due to the longer speaking slot, I will expand on some of the topics. 
Customer Service: Dealing with Difficult / Angry Customers  will focus on:
·         Customer Service in general.
·         Proven strategies for dealing with customer problems and complaints.
·         How to win over an difficult / angry customer.
·         How to further build the customer relationship.
·         Various important aspects of communicating with customers. 
·         Listening Skills


There will be opportunities for audience participation / discussion.

Information.

The seating for the well-prepared 360 Networking meetings are planned by Gareth to give a mix of delegates/businesses. Each business attending is provided with a list of attendees, letter headed paper for note-taking and a pen. In addition, Gareth puts a selection of Businessline information and the newsletter on each set of tables.
